MIA

Sorry I've been Missing in Action as of late. There are a few blog posts I've been meaning to write, hopefully I can get around to it. I'm 230 posts behind in my reader too, I've been trying to catch up there too.

Non-bloggable personal issue has been taking up a lot of my time still. May become bloggable soon.

Also, last weekend was mother's day and DH and I hosted our in-laws for a weekend full of stuff (bday party, shopping, baseball game) culminating in a Mother's day brunch for 14. It was a lot of fun and I'm glad we did it, but man was I tired. I slept for like 3 hours after everyone left on Sunday.

This weekend I am sick. I thought it was allergies, I've been taking allergy meds (a 24 hour version) for about a month but since last weekend (when the pollen has just gone crazy) it just hasn't worked all that well. I started coughing on Friday and just figured it was allergies but I noticed today my glands are all swollen so I'm thinking maybe I have a cold. Either way it's not fun.

RBOC: My life lately edition

• 2 more days left at post doc (PD). today was 12 hours, tomorrow will be 12 hours as well.
• PDM won't be back in town before I leave, I haven't seen her in 3 weeks.
• I have been rocking out on all my PD projects and I think I have moved them much further along that my PDM was expecting so I am much less worried about getting screwed out of my well earned authorship.
• Awesome new job (ANJ) sent me my official offer letter. It's so nice to have that in my hand.
• I have 1 week off between PD and ANJ, but I've been too damn busy finishing up to plan for my week off.
  
• ANJ also sent me a bunch of reading material (at my request), and I'm excited to get a better feel for what my new job will entail, this is how I will spend some of my week off.
  
• One of my favorite friends from grad school is coming to stay with DH and I for a night. I can't wait to see him, we'll have a blast.
  
• To go with my ANJ, I bought two pairs of ANS (awesome new shoes of course!!), what do you think? The heels on both are a little higher than I would usually go with but I loved both of them and I will have to drive to ANJ so I won't have to walk too far in these.

• DH and I are going to open houses together this Sunday. It should be interesting, we seem to have very different opinions about what our next house will be.
  

Ok, there is my catch up. I promise to post more often when my life slows down a bit.

"No real update" update

I am so tired. I had a work party to attend after I finished up my 10 hour ! day of training interns. Tomorrow is the last official day of training and I am so looking forward to being done. I have 10 interns who are my very own team to train for my study, but training 10 people at one time is just CRAZY!! I don't know how I haven't lost my voice, I've been speaking pretty much 10 hours/day for the last 3 days.

No job updates other than I feel stressed about how little prepping time I've had for my Friday interview. I did look up the bios of everyone who will be on the phone tonight, that is something right?!!

Did I mention how they sent me a question that they'll be asking all of their interviewees? I've been slowing making my way through the materials they created last year to come up with a game plan for how I'd approach this project myself. But I've been doing it in such small chunks that I haven't gotten very far in coming up with any sort of analysis strategy. The good news is that I prepped pretty good for the last interview I had (2 weeks ago now) and I can use many of the same questions that I thought of for this interview.

I am getting my hair cut and highlighted on Saturday! I am very excited about this. I am in love with the highlight color "Celtic copper" and I am hoping my hairdresser will be able to find it for me. If she does I'll take pics of the top of my head. :)

Ok, just wanted to give everyone my non-update, now I'm off to bed. Tomorrow is a short day so hopefully I will have plenty of time for prepping after work.
