Homework
I received a follow up email on Friday from the job interview on Wed with some example reports for me to look over. I am on page 23/278 of the first one, the second one is only 234 pages. Holy Shit!! I hope they don't expect me to commit any of this to memory It's generally interesting to see the materials they have to produce, but it's a lot to take in. I wanted to make sure to at least look through some of it as I should hear from them later this week and wanted to have a question or two ready about the reports when they call.

I'm generally confused at what the point is to reports that long. I think one of the best things I've learned in grad school is how to be concise!
Good luck to you. That sounds like a lot to have to read.
Geez . . . talk about homework! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you get an offer!! :)
That sounds like a job in and of its self! Hopefully you're able to fly through most of the reading. Good luck!

Wow, good luck to you! That seems like an incredibly lot to have to get through. I quite often wonder what is so complicated or whatever that it needs to be explained in over 200 pages, and can't be done in any fewer!
Again, I wish you the best of luck getting through all of those pages!
Thanks for the comments everyone. Unfortunately, I've only been about to get through maybe 20 pages of the first documents.
For those of you who mentioned how it seems quite unnecessary for anything to take > 200 pages, I bet you won't be surprised to hear that they're government reports! Ha ha. The research organization receives some (most) of it's funding from a specific government agency that required them to write these big ass reports.
